Dealing with tests and treatments for HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B infection to prevent mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) from a tertiary hospital in Indonesia

Background: Mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), syphilis, and Hepatitis B can cause a health burden lead to morbidity mortality in children. An attempt eliminate the has been made worldwide. This study aimed evaluate triple elimination MTCT for HIV, hepatitis tertiary hospital Indonesia. Methods: We evaluated 690 medical records new pregnant women seeking antenatal care (ANC) east part Indonesia from January December 2018. Results: testing were performed on 97 patients (14.1%). HIV B, syphilis 149 (21.6%), 6 (0.9%), (0.9%) patients, respectively. The prevalence was 4.2%, 0.4%, 3.8%, treatment by administering antiretroviral therapy (ART) done 86.2% patients. Injection benzathine penicillin G as 66.7% HBV DNA examination followed tenofovir administration 3.8% Conclusion: rate 2018 (14.1%) below target set World Health Organization (≥ 95%). Increasing access screening early detection is key preventing mother-to-child (MTCT).
